In Monmouth County, there are about 12,000 new Democratic voters this year. While this marks progress for the Democratic Party, that number also brings a level playing field. In Monmouth, there are about 72,000 Republicans, and now about 72,000 Democrats. The major deciding votes come from the about 300,000 undeclared or independent voters in the county.
Long story short: Monmouth is not just another Red County anymore. With competition comes better government. It's like anything else.
